An Office Space That Works for People
PLACED worked with award-winning architectural practice Buttress to engage its client’s staff in a major office rebuild project.
More than 2,000 people will use this office space, working in a complex and challenging business. We helped Buttress to understand what people need and want from their working environment, and deliver the best design solution.
In 2017 and 2018, we delivered a series of workshops, engaging people from across the business. Working with people from all departments and levels, we explored practical needs and working practices. We measured emotional responses to detailed design options.
Colleagues worked together to develop visual diagrams, modelling their ideas and debating priorities. We used structured dialogue, collaging and live sketching, keeping things interactive and making sure everyone’s views could be heard.
Our process got people thinking creatively not only about where they work, but also how they work. We raised aspirations for what could be possible in their working environment.
We captured detailed and valuable information for Buttress. Our findings and recommendations helped to shape the final design solution for their client.
